Englishjobs ⋅ @englishjobs ⋅ Jul 24, 2020
BORDERLINK, INC. was founded in 2000. It began with the desire and under the premise of building a world where children can have positive and inspiring lives. Here we are a decade or so later, with global waves in full motion, pushing full speed ahead. We believe it is important that Japanese people interact with that outside of Japan, surpass borders, co-exist, and co-prosper on a global scale. As we have almost reached this point, we want our children to acquire the power to accept change and live optimistically in a new world.

We want to be agents of change that support this transformation. For this to happen, we must continue to adapt and develop. The boards of education, schools, and educators who hold high expectations for Borderlink and choose Borderlink, are agents of changing themselves. In order for children to experience a bright future, we do not fear change. Rather, we accept it, and as true agents of change, fully devote ourselves to our work.

>>Start Planning For Your Future Today!<<
With 2020 now half over, it's time to start looking ahead. Where will you be this time next year? Have you ever thought about teaching English in Japan? If so, there's no better way to start than as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT).

ALTs work in public schools across Japan, supporting and being supported by Japanese teachers. Teaching in the public education system allows you to build strong, long-lasting relationships with your classes, get involved in extra-curricular activities like clubs and special events, and see a totally different side of Japan. It's a fulfilling and enriching experience not only for your students, but for you as well!

If you're living overseas, right now the idea of traveling across the world to teach may seem like only a distant dream. But we here at Borderlink are ready to make your journey to Japan a simple and smooth one- and it's a journey that can start today! We have already begun recruiting for positions starting from spring 2021, and encourage you to apply now!

>>We Support Your Journey to Japan<<
For over 20 years, Borderlink has been one of the premier employers of Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) across Japan, and we're only continuing to grow and improve with each passing year. One of our proudest attributes is a support staff that aims to make your transition to Japan and subsequent time spent here as easy and enjoyable as possible.

After passing the interview stage, successful candidates are given continuing direction and assistance- not just during the visa application process, but with everything from pre-departure specifics to advice on general life in Japan. And this support continues over the months of preparation, so even if your first day stepping into school seems far away now, our team will help you feel like you're already on the road there.

>>Who Are We Looking For?<<
Ideal candidates are highly motivated, outgoing, and personable individuals who can commit to the full academic year- it takes time to foster relationships with fellow teachers and students, and we owe it to them to provide a stable and enjoyable learning environment. Please remember that when you sign on to be an ALT, it is more than just signing a contract. It's making a promise, and truly embarking on a journey- be sure you're ready and willing to see it through to the end.

In addition to the requirements stated at the top of this ad, successful applicants should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be in good health, and be an excellent team player. Japanese isn't required but is highly desired by many schools, so knowledge of the language or a willingness to learn is encouraged.

>>Benefits and help with Accommodations<<
For those joining us from overseas, we offer extra support with arranging housing to make the process of getting settled in as streamlined as possible! Finding and renting an apartment can be one of the biggest hurdles when living abroad, but with many years of experience, we are able to make the process as simple and reasonable for you as can be! We also offer help with setting up a bank account, hassle-free visa support, and round-the-clock assistance so you can live and work comfortably!

Other benefits of being an ALT with Borderlink include:

● No teaching experience? No problem! We provide initial training, seasonal training, as well as on-the-job training, to ensure that you are ready and have all the tools necessary to succeed in the classroom
● Access to teaching materials and our library of educational resources (worksheets, flashcards, etc.)
● Work regular school hours (usually between 8 AM to 5 PM) and enjoy free evenings, weekends and national holidays, plus school vacation periods.
● Free monthly consultation from your fellow ALTs with the area facilitator program
● A yearly calendar that allows you to plan your schedule in advance
● Paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)
● Our annual contracts are renewable, and we welcome back those who remain in good standing with their schools and forge strong relationships with the administration team/office
● Potential career growth opportunities for veteran ALTs, such as becoming an area facilitator or joining our administrative team

You can enjoy a work-life balance that lets you grow professionally, while also having the time to explore and enjoy Japan and its culture. And when it comes to the job, if you're willing to learn and are open to new experiences, we can and want to help you! The schools and students we work with want the best, and we'll make sure you are the best!
